| Hey everyone,
When I first saw the title of this site "Gorgeous gamers" I thought to myself: "Ewwww you wouldn't catch me dead in a place like that". Simply because it sounds like the folks here would be a) self absorbed b) shallow c) in heat. But I gave it a chance and surfed through the links, coming to understand why there are so many people here: the collection of services is really nice, the interface is simple and pleasant to use and there are just so many people here. So, although I feel a tad embarrassed to join up, and even though I loathe rating systems - I'll give this place a go and see what happens.
I'm a momma of two wonderful sons, and we live in Helsinki, Finland where I work as a game artist in one of Finland's top game studios. I've been a gamer since I was a little girl, so I absolutely adore working in the game industry. Although I enjoy various game genres, it's MMORPGs which have stolen my heart and I can't really imagine life without them anymore. Currently I am most active in Ultima Online and Second Life, but am on the verge of opening my WoW account. Just kinda worn out on WoW since I've been playing it since beta, but with the right company it could be fun again. :-) Although I enjoy the game aspect of MMOs, you know - questing for the ultimate sword, defeating a bad ass boss etc, I enjoy it even more if it's integrated with immersive interaction and fantasy. So yes, I would consider myself a role player - but in no way a hard core role player. I can't be bothered with grandeur schemes and plots, I just like to do my thing and allow my character to "live their own life" as I go along. People who have a one track mind in MMOs (Epixx!) and can't see the adventure and possibilities past the loot, bore me to death.
Making games during the day, being a momma in the evenings and weekends, and a MMO junkie in the nights doesn't leave me with much spare time. But I do manage to squeeze in other things as well. Travelling, photography, classic forms of art and going to the movies with a big ol' box of popcorn all fall under favorite things to do when away from my computer. Note that I didn't include socializing and partying - that's because I'm more of a solo person or duo person. Large groups of people tend to wear me out. I'd much rather prefer doing things independantly or sharing them with a good friend, my kids or a partner.
So why did I register at GorgeousGamers *wince* dot com? I'm hoping to stumble upon a nice fella who is like minded and in my age range, enjoys MMOs as much as I do and would enjoy meeting up with me in a game if we seem to click. You'd think that we gamer girls have it made when it comes to romance - just pick and choose. But that's not how it goes unfortunately hehe. In fact every single serious relationship I've been in, was with a guy who was not geeky and did not understand my gaming passion. So there you have it!
Currently I'm planning on creating a holiday package service in Ultima Online, cruising newlyweds and other holiday goers to my beautiful Grecian village, complete with hotels and a taverna (on Europa). In the near future I'll be hiring staff to help out at random intervals, so if you play UO and would be interested in working as and role playing the part of a cook, waiter, customs official or sea captain, let me know. :-) |

| | I started playing there at release(nov 2004) since that took place earlier in the US than in the EU, went to the EU servers for a while, then back to the US briefly but now back on EU again. I just realized I don't update this info very often. |
