Started the 10 day trial... very lost. Any advice? I hope this doesn't take over my life...

What server are you on? Umm..just read the quests..press m to access map and see where to go? hehe

You should try and get a friend who plays WoW to help you level up after you finish the ten days- their help will help you level three times faster and give them some delicious benefits, too
